Deki has a holistic approach to building resilience to poverty and the effects of climate change

Our Holistic Approach

At Deki, we believe in the power and potential of local communities

With the right tools and opportunities, people can transform their own futures. That’s why our work is guided by the priorities of local communities - empowering them to lead the change they want to see.

Through strong partnerships with rural communities, local organisations, and government agencies, we’ve developed a deep understanding of the challenges people face and how to support them effectively.

Our impact team visits each village to listen, learn, and co-create solutions grounded in local knowledge. Together, we equip families with the tools they need to become resilient and self-sufficient - building lasting resilience to poverty and climate change and creating long-term, sustainable impact.

Across our projects we work to 13 Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a universal call to action adopted by the United Nations in 2015 to address global challenges and ensure a better future for all. At Deki, we work towards 13 of these goals, as they align closely with our mission to empower communities and create lasting change.

By embedding the SDGs in our projects, we ensure that our efforts contribute to a broader global movement, while making a tangible impact in the communities we empower. Each of our initiatives are designed to build resilience, reduce inequalities, and create opportunities for a better future.

For our Deki friends and supporters, supporting our projects means contributing to these globally recognised goals, and being part of a movement that’s changing lives and building stronger, more resilient communities. Together, we’re working towards a world where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Our multi-dimensional approach, focuses on four strategic programmes:
